NFL DFS Sunday Showdown (Divisional): Chiefs at Bills– 1/21/24

CPTN:

James Cook (DK- $12,300, FD- $10,000)

With arguably the most anticipated rematch in the playoffs to go underway here James Cook is likely perform well once again due to KC struggling more against running backs as of late more than any other position but also giving up the 10th least rushing yards in the league overall. However, the main contribution to Cook’s value in lineups previously against KC was through the air and fortunately, KC have given up 3rd most opportunities among the teams left in the post season (8th most red zone targets in the league) which puts Cook in a strong position to be one of the top scorers for BUF. Also, another plus for Cook shares is that he’s been getting more usage as of late compared to his last start (44% offensive snaps then to 61% in his last game) so he should have an easier path to reach his value in contests.

Rashee Rice (DK- $14,400, FD- $12,500)

Rashee Rice has arguably become one of Patrick Mahomes’ most reliable scoring options as of late and one of the safest to consider in contests. After two straight games with 100+ receiving yardage and one receiving touchdown Rice should continue to provide good value for KC stacks or as a one off. In addition, Rice managed to score against BUF last time as well with a similar target share (10 total) compared to the amount he’s been receiving in his past two games (9 targets on average). The tradeoff here is that both teams have had stout defense on average against wide receivers as of late, but BUF has given up the most of the two teams (442 receiving yards versus 333). Also, BUF has had the 3rd most interceptions in among the teams left which may result in Rice needing to score once if not multiple times to exceed his value drastically.

UTIL/FLEX:

Dalton Kincaid (DK- $6,400, FD- $10,000)

Dalton Kincaids’ opportunities have gradually been shifting toward his favor as of late after sharing usage with his teammate in the same role (Dawson Knox) in arguably one of the highest positional advantages here. KC have had trouble with tight ends the most thus far in recent weeks (7th most fantasy points surrendered in the league) which comes at a perfect time for Dalton Kincaid to receive usage boost. Moreover, KC entered the post season with the 5th most sacks in the league and now have had the 3rd least in postseason recently so now would be a good opportunity to consider Kincaid heavily among the BUF pass catchers. Since BUF are playing without one of their high usage wide receivers in this rematch as well Kincaid is likely to receive targets near double-digits (falling four short in his playoff debut last game).

Travis Kelce (DK- $7,800, FD- $11,500)

Likely to have ownership on the higher end but should be one of the most targeted KC selections is Travis Kelce. Travis Kelce hasn’t exceeded his value heavily in several games now but has begun to receive more usage as of late and should continue to hear after a double-digit target game (10). Luckily, Kelce ended up with 10 targets against BUF’ last time so he’ll more than likely continue to be relied on heavily in scoring. Also, Kelce received slightly more snaps (68 last game) compared to 59 versus BUF previously so there should be no surprise if Kelce ends up being the first tight end in this post season to score against BUF with them likely looking to stop Pacheco from having a double-digit red zone target (10) game in KC’ last victory.
