NFL DFS Super Bowl Sunday Showdown: 49ers at Chiefs – 2/11/24

CPTN:

Christian McCaffrey (DK- $18,000, FD- $17,500)

Christian McCaffrey’s usage was reduced slightly (63 to 60 offensive snaps in his last two) but he still managed to score twice which makes him one of the most viable options to select of both teams. However, there is some risk here with KC not giving up more than 100 yards on average (84) in recent weeks and the defense likely to focus on phasing out CMC. Therefore, the consideration for CMC shares should be more so for cash lineups and likely to have ownership on the higher end to begin with. Luckily, of the two teams KC have given up more red zone touches lately (15) which may result in KC being the first of the two teams to give up the first rush touchdown this post season making CMC difficult to complete fade in lineups.

Rashee Rice (DK- $11,400, FD- $11,000)

On the opposing end and a player that has seen more opportunities in his last matchup (89% offensive snap count) worth targeting in both cash and tournaments is Rashee Rice. Although, of the two teams SF have given up less passing yards during this post season they have surrendered more fantasy points to wideouts (26.90 average versus 21.40). In other words, Rice is likely to continue gradually improving his value and should be a pivotal key to KC stacks and/or as a one-off. After falling one target short of double-digits last game there would be no surprise if Rice manages to reach that amount here and likely to capitalize off SF giving up 6 red zone targets on average this post season to wide receivers.

UTIL/FLEX:

George Kittle (DK- $6,400, FD- $10,000)

Among all teams George Kittle is likely to get overlooked heavily and has arguably one of the largest positional advantages making him a strong tournament option. Kittle regressed heavily in his last start but should be relied on more here with KC surrendering the most points of both teams to a sole position (15.65 fantasy point average) that happens to be the tight end position. Fortunately, Kittle has nearly played every offensive snap for two straight weeks (97% average) and likely to contribute heavily to SF’s scoring, especially with both teams stout against the run game up to this point. After Travis Kelce’s strong performances thus far this post season Kittle could potentially perform just as well at a massively lower price tag if not stacked with Kelce in lineups and at lesser ownership possibly. Regardless, Kittle is definitely a more high-risk high reward option of the two and should only be targeted in tournaments.

Kansas City Chiefs Defense (DK- $3,400, FD- $9,000)

After a multi-sack performance in their last game (4 total) KC may have a chance here to repeat if not perform just as well in this matchup. Both teams have allowed rushing yards on the lower end but with KC allowing the lesser of the two may result in them complementing other options in lineups more efficiently. Also, SF’s game plan usually revolves around their running back who has been the best this season but may also cause them to be slightly one-dimensional. In addition, the KC defense has surrendered less points overall (41 versus 52) compared to SF, so they are arguably the safer option of the two if chosen in lineups. KC has hurried up the quarterback the 8th most of all postseason teams as well which has been more than SF so they may end up applying more pressure on Purdy and could potentially benefit from one of the SF star players being banged up from injuries.
