College Football on DraftKings & FanDuel – Core Plays & Cheat Sheet – 12/1/2023

We’ve got Friday night conference championship games for today’s slate! Are you looking for a quick, consolidated list of options for college fantasy football? Take a look at our CFB Core Plays & Cheat Sheets to help navigate tonight’s slate!

Core Plays

Bo Nix – QB, Oregon

Salary: $9,500 DK, $11,500

Two game slates for college football inherently make the likelihood of stacking a specific team or game greater due to sheer lack of roster options and limited opportunities for lineup diversity. That being said, it seems clear tonight is a night for game stacking the PAC 12 Championship game — a game that is expected to have significantly higher offensive output than the Conference USA Championship game between Liberty and New Mexico State.

The PAC-12 Championship is expected to have materially higher passing game output. Ducks QB Bo Nix is expected to continue his tear through the 2023 college football season and notch another fantastic performance for fantasy football. It seems very unlikely that Nix won’t end up in the optimal roster tonight, especially considering opting to play other quarterbacks does not benefit players much in the way of salary savings on either site.

Dillon Johnson – RB, Washington

Salary: $6,000 DK, $8,500 FD

The running backs on this slate are high-output, talented backs that are difficult to differentiate from each other in terms of projected median outcome and upside. Among the top three rushers on the slate, Dillon Johnson has the lowest DFS salary on both DraftKings and FanDuel. This is an important consideration, as stacking the passing games in the Ducks – Huskies game is likely going to be an important factor in building positive-expected-value lineups but doing so is going to eat up a significant portion of fantasy players’ budget constraints. Thus, finding spots to minimize salary expenditure without having to sacrifice too much median expectation is important from an opportunity cost perspective.

Dillon Johnson has rushed for more than 80 yards in each of the Huskies last five games and has scored in four of those five. Against USC in week ten, Johnson registered an astonishing 256 rushing yards and 4 rushing touchdowns. The Huskies running back has a high median expectation as well as a high ceiling and daily fantasy players can roster him while saving some salary compared to the other two high-salary options on the slate, which makes him an excellent option.

Terrance Ferguson – TE (WR on DK and FD), Oregon

Salary: $3,600 DK, $5,900 FD

As mentioned, targeting game stacks of the Oregon passing game is going to be very attractive for fantasy players today. But what comes with that is high stack salary, high ownership and, thus, less opportunities for leverage.

Rostering Ferguson, who is unlikely to be popular among a high-profile group of wide receivers in the PAC-12 Championship game, could afford fantasy players some of the salary relief and differentiation they seek. While Ferguson is unlikely to amass an exceptional level of fantasy points, he has been a steady target in Oregon’s passing game and should have plenty of opportunities to be involved. Ferguson should be considered as a favorable value option for those looking to save salary to pay up for high-salary receivers in other roster spots.
