Core Plays

William Byron $11,200 

Byron might be the hottest driver in NASCAR right now. He has recored four top-5 finishes including a win in his last five races with the other being a 7th place finish. He is the second most expensive driver on the slate but is this high for a good reason. Considering how he has performed, I expect another top-8 finish from him. Today, he starts in the 16th position which offers a decent amount of place differential upside. I think he will be more popular than people want him to be but he is one of my favorite plays of the slate.

Kyle Busch $9,000

This is purely a place differential play as Kyle Busch starts from the 31st position. He has been eliminated from playoff contention and is trying to end the season on a good note. Before last week, he had finished 3rd two races in a row. Busch is one of the elite drivers in NASCAR and even though he hasn’t been as consistent this season, offers a ton of upside. He will be popular because of his starting position, even with his price being decently high.

Corey Lajoie $5,400

Lajoie has been racing well recently, finishing in the top-20 in three straight races. Lajoie is a value play that I like this week due to his price, starting position, and with his recent form. He starts from the 30th position but is averaging over 28 fantasy points per game. At this low of a price, he seems like a steal with a good amount of place differential upside. He will probably be one of the popular value plays of the day but at his price, it is hard to pass up.
