NBA DFS Showdown: Timeberwolves at Suns– DraftKings & Fanduel- 4/28/24

CPTN:

Anthony Edwards (DK- $16,800, FD- $15,500)

There’s almost no denying him in contest at this point but Anthony Edwards may be the most expensive player from this matchup but should be targeted in both cash and tournaments. Since this game is projected to be the closest of the day there should be enough opportunities for him to produce in lineups. Fortunately, out of the two positions Edwards plays (point and shooting guard) PHX has given up both rebounds (7.71 average) and made three pointers (4.04 average) on the higher end against the opposing point guard specifically. Luckily, Edwards is coming off a game gradually increasing in both categories making him one of the most versatile options from this game.

Kevin Durant (DK- $15,300, FD- $14,000)

On the opposing end and receiving a price decrease on Fanduel specifically but should be a highly considered PHX option regardless of the site is Kevin Durant. Durant would be more optimal for cash lineups but should contribute towards the majority of PHX scoring here due to leading in that category still. Fortunately, for Durant there’s still room for him to provide good value since MIN have been in the middle of the pack of playoff teams as far as surrendering points to his position (power forward) while turning the ball over the 3rd most against them among the playoff teams. In other words, the chances should continue to increase for Durant to produce in lineups and his playing time has already been gradually increasing already (39, 41 and 42 minutes in his last three starts) which should help him get closer to reaching his value.

UTIL/FLEX:

Bradley Beal (DK- $8,600, FD- $12,500)

Bradley Beal has finally been getting more efficient value wise and performed his best in his last start with a good chance to maintain that rate worth targeting in tournaments. Despite MIN not giving up a drastic number of points when facing Beal’s position lately (20.58 average) the fact he’s been gradually increasing his three-point attempts (3, 4, and 11 in his last three starts) bodes well for him to help contribute more production in lineups. Also, with his price tag barely changing after his best performance this series and receiving minute boosts each game he should be targeted with PHX likely to give it their all to prevent being swept.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker (DK- $5,400, FD- $10,000)

Nickeil Alexander Walker could end up being one of the strongest value options and barely received a price change (while being in the mid-range) which should be taken advantage of in contests. Nickeil has exceeded his value for three straight games now and could end up performing just as well in this matchup. Due to Kyle Anderson dealing with injuries the minutes at the small forward position for MIN is likely to be distributed more among the small forwards and MIN are already limited in that position (with ones that score consistently). However, the biggest risk here is Nickeil’s usage gradually decreasing in his past three starts (19.3, 17, 16.3 rates in his last three) and could make it tough for him to exceed his value drastically but still worth considering heavily in tournaments.
