Week 4 NFL DFS: The Value Report for DraftKings & FanDuel

Welcome to the Value Report for Week 3. Sharing top value plays at each position for FanDuel & DraftKings contests.

There are a lot of different ways to determine who is a value play when it comes to DFS.

You have your traditional way of basing value strictly on salary. X player is only Y in salary thus he is a value play. I personally don’t like to determine value that way as just because a player is cheap doesn’t actually mean they are a value. To me, value is a combination of a multitude of things including price, matchup, injuries, etc. This article is aimed at providing one or two options at each position depending on the slate. Let’s dive right in to this weeks contest!

Quarterback

Matthew Stafford $5,700 DK | $6,600 FD

Stafford heads to Indianapolis to play in the dome against the Colts. For the Rams, he has been the one to lead the team but has struggled to find the end zone as he only has two passing touchdowns so far. He has thrown for over 300 yards twice this season and has another good matchup to do so. I think he goes under-owned on Sunday. Currently, the spread is even and in a close game, I want to have at least one of those quarterbacks and Stafford is the one I want. At this price, he should be able to pay off his salary as well as get more for it. I know there were some injuries to the offensive line last game but if C.J. Stroud can throw for over 380 yards against this team, then Stafford should be able to do it.

Running Back

Alexander Mattison $5,800 DK | $7,200 FD

Mattison is the same price as he was last week and has a very similar matchup. For the Vikings, they travel to face Carolina and are currently four point favorites on the road. With that being said, I think this team is going to try and lean on the run more. The Vikings acquired Cam Akers last week and is expected to be active but Kevin O’Connell is sticking with Mattison as the lead back. So far, the Panthers have given up two rushing touchdowns each game this season and are allowing more than 135 yards a game on the ground. If that isn’t a recipe for success, I am not sure what is.

Wide Receiver

D.J. Moore $5,600 DK | $6,100 FD

Moore has posted over 12 fantasy points in two straight games and gets one of the best matchups on the slate against the Broncos. This team has not been able to stop anyone and I concerned for what Moore could do for them. He finally got his first touchdown with Justin Fields last week and I believe there is a good chance that happens again. He should have very minimal ownership in what projects to be a game with hopefully a high score since both defense can’t stop no one right now.

Tight End

Dawson Knox $3,100 DK | $5,200 FD

Knox hasn’t really been needed much but this is an in-division game with the Miami Dolphins and all the stops should be put out to win this game. For Knox, he has been a more touchdown dependent fantasy player, which when he plays at home, that is where he is normally better. They have given up two touchdowns to tight ends this year through three games and against the double tight end duo of Hunter Henry and Mike Geisicki, they really struggled.

Defense

New England Patriots $3,000 DK | $3,700 FD

The Patriots travel on the road to face the Dallas Cowboys this week in what should be an interesting matchup. For the Cowboys, they are dealing with some injuries on the offensive line, which could deter from the offense getting going. Last week they didn’t play well against Arizona as they struggled to move the ball. For the Patriots, they have been playing better defense than their offense and if they can get some takeaways, that could propel their offense on Sunday. They should be low owned as well as they are better matchups on the board but this Patriots defense is sneaky this week.
